End of the Bad Chi

Well, finally i get to perfectly install my new Head Lights, after all the Unwanted CHis around me, bursting my ballast is one of the last thing that i am going to fix after all the fixing dont know who is giving me, fix this fix that fix this fix that, it will never end i tell you, just problems after problems but i hope this will be the last for now at least...maybe if something happens in next few months! i wont mind! =/ not like consistently every week =O ,

Anyway, took these peace of Lights almost 2 months to reach me as i ordered from a very very very busy friend, before that was driving with only fog lamps on or with 3 eyes only. He was selling HID's for like RM300 for lo ones and RM 320 for halogen hi/lo. Told him to get for me the hi/lo but he advised me to get the lo ones as the hi/lo bulbs don't last long. Come to think of it that 2 years ago bought HID's for RM Beribu-ribu...heart pain T-T.

So, got the Lights, brought it to ANOTHER friend to fix it and charged me RM40 for installation!!! Jesus that is throat slit man! bAh nvm bout that, cause my head lamps aren't easy to install too as the installation has to be done from underneath, not the bonnet. So, okay bili bala bili bala, got it fixed...then when the night comes i tested the lights. =/ Disappointing again..the lights aren't pointing the way it suppose to be...the left shines too much to the right where left areas cant be seen. So tak happy, send to my friend again next day, evening...shot the lights on the wall, memang pun la the lights senget like 'ibu bantai anak kaki kangkang'.

He tried spinning the adjuster from the bonnet area which the head lamp can be seen from top, keep spinning, but it just doesn't move up or down, at that time i am still not sure if thats the right gear to rotate up/down or left/right...the mechanic was not sure himself, said it was my left head light casing problem kaki gear sudah patah. =.=. So..in the end..he said..sorry..cannot help you..2ND night..brought to my own mechanic...asked them to help me out with it...they shot the wall..as usual..adjust adjust..nothing moves...excuse is...oh..its like that one la...light sure shoot centre wan...puki mak la i fed up next day i brought my dildo sized skrew driver, drove down to my condo basement which has no lights at all, pitch dark basement with high walls...chun la i shot the wall open bonnet, skrewed it BY myself and woLLA, the light moved from right to left! its working! but how about the up/down gear which those mechs did not have an idea where the hell is it...i found it. It's beneath the headlights which u cant barely see from the top if you open the bonnet, the car is too compact that everything has to be hidden. SO..turn turn turn pusing pusing..which is quite tough cos its dark and i have to agak agak where the small gear is..so i just continued pusinging it till i see the lights going up and making a perfect horizontal line! WAHHAHAWIWIHWIHIWWIH HAPPPYYY GEMBIRAAAA CHIBAI STIM!! job well done! go back sleep happy! =p

The 'LookOut' Restaurant

Went to a very special place last night for dinner cum supper, a very very special place called 'Look Out', there is a restaurant up there serving Western food, didn't knew that place existed until Heong brought us there with Yoong. It's far ahead after Jalan Ampang, inbetween Selayang and Kajang. Took us around 45 minutes to get there plus getting a little lost because the road lights are dim despite being the second time there for Heong but eventually we got to find the place.

It's kinda uphill, around 10 minutes drive to the top, surprisingly the air is as chilly as Gentings, Misty and all =D Brought some Jackets there just incase, but the cold was tolerable so its very very relaxing. Before we even reached the restaurant, along the way up we are already so mesmerized with the damn view! Its freaking WHOLE KL CITY VIEW anytime nicer then Gentings *O*....and when we finally stopped at the makan place, OMFG...pengsan...just beautiful, marvelous, superfantastic, the whole scenery is just like your desktop wallpaper! Maybe some of you guys have been up there before but we jakon have not been! Omg 1st time can die. Here are the scenes!

Remember the time when Japanese Entertainment Business ruled over most Asian Entertainment Industry? That was before the year 2002, the Year of the World Cup hosted by Korea & Japan. Pattaya Has The Best Nightlife In The World !

Was looking around for some place to go in Thailand, despite some places in Thailand I've been like Hadyai, ChiangMai, Phuket, Bangkok...i came across with this place called Pattaya which i think its a worthy place to visit for a new experience in night life entertainment!, A place famous for its Red Light District
Walking Street Pattaya is probably the most exciting street in the world if one like to have fun. Here you will find all kinds of entertainment, from bars, discos, gogo-bars, cabaret shows and much much more.

There are quite a few options in Pattaya as to where to stay for a really good time, particularly during the Nov/March ‘tourist season’. The season never actually stops but the hot and wet weather during some summer months deters many people.

Presuming you are not checking-out the four and five star hotels to stay at, and perhaps something a little ‘earthier’ is what you’re really looking for, ‘around 2nd Road and Beach Road and just off Walking Street’, is the answer.

Whether you are in a group or you are here by yourself there is an instant camaraderie between foreign people on holiday here, no matter where you are from. You may come from all over the world, but you are all in someone else’s country.
Lots of the bars in the sois (small streets) between the beach and 2nd Road, particularly from Soi 6 all the way to Walking Street, are also guesthouses of different sorts. Some are like a B&B over a busy pub in England, and, between some smarter hotels, are some seriously cheap rooms rented from the bar downstairs and are usually the haunt of ‘the boys’.

‘The boys” are the “single” blokes who have come here to have a lot of fun, a lot of drink, a lot of girls and whatever else they want, preferably for as little money as possible. Practically 24 hour sports are on the numerous TV’s (the bargirls are all watching Thai ‘soaps’ on a portable), drinks and girls are everywhere, and you feel as though you have “arrived” in heaven.

There are quite a few lodgings to be had on Soi 6 but next door, particularly if it is a go-go bar or whatever, will successfully prevent any early nights during your stay.

However you will also possibly discover the kathoeys (amazingly realistic to the untutored eye, lady-boys), who are ever present on this particular soi and in Pattayaland and Walking Street. As a first time visitor you would certainly not be the first, or indeed the last man to be caught-out in your hotel room THAT EVENING! So don’t panic. Just make sure your ‘preliminary tests’ are up to ‘scratch’ next time you take a lady ‘home’, and make sure they don’t nick anything. They are good at that.

There is lots of action all the way down and through Walking Street all the way along.

Sois 7&8 have loads of hotels and guesthouses to suite any nationality, the entertainment happening downstairs and perhaps upstairs too, is why most single men have come here.

From the bottom of the soi a very short walk down the beach towards Walking Street will get you to the popular Sois 13, Yamoto and Post Office, which are full of bars and entertainments and also have a lot have accommodation above.

On, in the same direction, to Pattayaland and Boyztown where accommodation is available for any sex, and you will find yourself in Walking Street.

The International Meeting Place has many small, and some larger hotels in the little moos( lanes) leading off it. The further you walk away from Walking Street the cheaper the hotels and guesthouses get. The Arab quarter of Pattaya is about half way up on the left, and at the end, just before Bali Hi, a couple of cheap French places cater for ex-pats and visitors alike.

If you like to be with ‘the boys’, particularly if you’re on holiday, without ‘the trouble and strife’ around, you could do a lot worse than head for Sois 6,7,8,13,etc to have the holiday of a lifetime.

Soi Boukhaow (variously spelt because it is unpronounceable to we English speakers) also has a good variety of cheaper ‘billets’ for the many ex-pats in the area as well as tourists, and, being parallel to 2nd Road is only a 7 minute walk from the beach. European food abounds in this Soi, from fish and chips to ‘European style Chinese’; from a really decent curry (40 baht/50pence/75cents), to steak and kidney pudding, from a whole roast chicken (100 baht) to pizza or pasta and much more.

Do's and Don'ts of the Pattaya Sex Scene

DO take sufficient money. Although a paying sexual encounter, by western standards, is relatively cheap, you may become sex-crazed and go through all your money in record time; plus the fact, the ladies are ingenious when it comes to extracting your lucre. Pace yourself.

Beer bars are much cheaper, but the cheapest is bars with en-suite bedrooms where the average all-in price is 500 Baht, plus drinks. Try Soi 6.
DO use a condom, unless you both want to get blood-tests to eliminate AIDS, gonorrhoea, TB and hepatitis risks.
DO appreciate that the ladies usually have to support a family back home.
DO be generous, otherwise you’ll be cheated, gain a bad-reputation and be shunned by the ladies.
DO keep your wits about you, especially after dark.

Phantasmagoria The Movie

Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll is an upcoming film by Marilyn Manson with Anthony Silva and Geoff Cox. It is directed by Manson as part of his Celebritarian Corporation art movement. It is being produced by Blue Light for Wild Bunch and has a budget of $4.2m.

The script for the film has been complete as of December 2005 and shooting is slated to begin late 2007. At a press conference for the film Manson (who will be playing Carroll) and Lily Cole(who will be playing Alice) showed a five-minute trailer to around sixty journalists which was generally well-received.

Plot

A synopsis given to journalists at the press conference mentioned above read:

Victorian England.

A haunted writer in an isolated castle is tormented by sleepless nights and visions of a girl named Alice. He finds himself becoming a symptom of his own invention.

He is Lewis Carroll. Terrified of what waits for him each night.

Manson has stated his aim for the project is to “redefine the horror genre” and bring it back to the days of “Polański and Hitchcock”. The film has also been linked with other projects such as Alejandro Jodorowsky’s King Shot and an as yet untitled film with Tilda Swinton. Swinton will also play Manson's dream wife in the movie.

Manson stated in June 2006 that he sees himself “as more a student of film than of music” and after Phantasmagoria is planning a trilogy of films retelling three Edgar Allan Poe stories.

Release

The short films, and possibly the feature film, will reportedly be made available through Manson’s official website though he has also stated that the first film’s release will be “very unconventional”.

Manson has also made many references to how his website will change in the future, stating that the website is very video-extensive and “has been created to be a place where you can see even more than what is in the film, whether it will be viewed as trailers or teasers, or further elements that aren’t necessary to support the film. If you enjoy the film, there’s a wealth of knowledge there to dig deeper”.

"Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll" is still "very much happening," Manson told Billboard magazine. "We postponed the film until after this tour, so probably November, December." Release Date looks to be heading towards a 2008 release.

The 1st Part

If you like gore, adventure, puzzles, real-life gameplay, thriller, murder, this is the game you have to check out. It's one of my classic favourite game until now, launched since 1995-1996, played the game when i was like...11 years old? I found the game in a refuse dump along with other games(ALOT) outside my condo! where some Japanese family wanted to shift back to Japan and they threw all their pc software & hardware all away! Found a Joystick too worth around RM400 at that time =D. And so i came to find the game, which includes 7 cd's and a cover all together.

So without hesitating i went to my neighbour's house to check it out cause i don't have a pc at that time. I played it & i was totally crazy about it since then. So far of all the games i played so far, these is the only game that is so different from all, reason being they use real life actor and actresses for your avatar, even the environment are real! every scene every act, the result of the overall story depends on multiple choices u make throughout the game. I lost the cd's to a friend i lent it to. I tried to find back the game for life and couldn't find it anywhere, it's an uber rare game. But then...i managed to find it in Imbi last 2 years if i'm not mistaken in a very run downed shop in imbi, 2nd floor...Surprisingly all the shops which has all the games in the world doesn't have it but a small game shop not displaying anything has it! And it's the last copy! And they had the 2nd part of Phantasmagoria too! yes the latest one(which is also quite old)....anyway, here are the Plot and Intro of the Game! some screenshots of the Part2,

Made during the height of the "interactive movie" boom in the computer game industry, Phantasmagoria is notable for being one of the first adventure games to use a human being as an on-screen avatar. Actress Victoria Morsell spent months in front of a bluescreen filming the hundreds of actions players could direct her character to perform. The game was released on seven CDs to accommodate the massive amount of video generated by this process, the creation of which was contracted by Sierra to Kronos Digital Entertainment (who had previously worked on Sierra's King's Quest 6). Today it still stands as a record of sorts for the largest number of media cuts used in a game, though several other games — including an adventure game based on The X-Files television series — have matched it in the sheer number of CDs used. However, if it were to use modern day video compression codecs while keeping the same resolution, the game could probably have shipped on as little as one or two discs. On the other hand, however, the seven discs were used to highlight the seven days, during which the story takes place - the game could easily fit about five discs, even without the advanced video compression. Also, it is worth mentioning that large portions of data were repeated on each CD, to avoid disk swapping when playing the game.

The game script was about 400 pages long, four times the size of a regular movie script, and an additional 100 pages of storyboards set the style for the over 800 scenes in the game. The game required four months of filming alone and over 200 persons were involved in the production, not counting the Gregorian choir of 135 persons that was used for parts of the music in the game.

Plot - Part.1

The story by Roberta Williams, somewhat similar to that of The Shining, revolves around paperback writer Adrienne Delaney, who has together with her husband Donald Gordon just bought a remote, enormous mansion previously owned by a famous magician in the late 19th century, Zoltan Carnovasch (Carno). Adrienne is hoping to get in the mood for writing her next novel and Don, a photographer, wants to photograph things. Immediately upon moving into the house, Adrienne begins having nightmares. Unbeknownst to the happy two, Zoltan the magician was into black magic and had summoned an evil demon which possessed him and made him murder his wives in grotesque ways. (Remotely connected to their favorite occupation - for example, in one of the most controversial film sequences the chubby Regina is force fed animal entrails through a funnel until she suffocates.)

As far as the townspeople know, the wives died naturally however tragically, but as Adrienne explores the house she starts to see visions of the murders taking place. She finds out that Zoltan met his demise when his last wife realized he was a murderer. She conspired with her lover to kill Zoltan by sabotaging the equipment for his most famous and dangerous escapology trick; inspired by "The Pit and the Pendulum" by Edgar Allan Poe, Zoltan would escape from being strapped to a chair with a built-in axe that swung back and forth above him and lowering until it killed him, all while his head was covered with a burning hood. The plan went wrong and both the wife and the lover as well as Zoltan died, and the demon escaped into a secret room of the mansion. Adrienne unwittingly releases it shortly after moving in and it possesses Don. Seeking help from among others the repenting spirit of Zoltan and a 110 year old man who as a boy was a witness to the demon's escape, Adrienne manages to banish the demon forever, although by then the completely insane Don gets killed.

Phantasmagoria was a notable departure for designer Roberta Williams, best known for her family games like the King's Quest series. Featuring graphic gore, violence and a rape scene, the game stirred controversy over age restrictions and target audiences in the maturing game industry. It was banned in Australia while CompUSA and other major retailers refused to carry it. The game was never banned in Germany, but has an 18-Rating.

Plot 2 - Puzzle Of Flash
In 1996, Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh by Lorelei Shannon was released. Though still enormous in size — coming on five separate CDs — it was in no way as large as its predecessor.

Dropping the unique adventure game style interaction in favor of an interactive movie format, A Puzzle of Flesh was more expensive to produce and less popular with audiences tiring of video clip-driven games. Though some concluded that it was a substantial improvement over the original in several areas, others dismissed the game, criticizing it for its completely different atmosphere, lack of creativity, interactivity and excessive violence.

The plot of the second game in the series revolves around the character of Curtis Craig, a 30-year-old man working in a company managed by the enigmatic Paul Warner. Last nite after watching movie from 1U heading home around 1AM got very lucky, saw Alvin passing by...waved goodbye...after that as i steer into the back road junction of Carmen's house, i heard a crack sound, coming from the left bottom...so i did not really bother because often her house behind got big rocks and stones on the road, so when i came down from the car i can hear the sound of music...it sounds like...tssssssss...i can hear it from the right side of the tire...bbuutt...actually the sound didn't come from the right tyre....later i noticed it was the left side that is making the high pitch soprano sound...so chilaka betul la went to the left side was so loud there...after that i curious to see what punctured the tire, i walked to the end of the lorong and i found broken bottles on the road which i ran over, broken thick glasses, duno which chibai throw wan,so think think think..jialat liao la diz time...so i decided to ask Carmen quick take the other car we have to take it to the workshop NOW! while there is still enough air to reach the workshop, so we don't have to wait till 2moro morning and see a flat tyre and have to call a tow truck lerr...coz no one can change my tires if the car isnt in the workshop, too hard to jack up the car as in no spare tires can be fitted in, all are too small,

So whenever i get a hole in the tire...i have to tow the car with baby tyres, that means the whole car will be lifted up, no tires rolling on the floor, only then can be moved =/...and BEST of all, diz tire that koyak'd is the new tyre that i just changed to the last time i punctured my tire at Ampang before having shisha session with Gerald & Jess! knnccb, cause they already rotate my rims from back to front, the last time was my back left, now my front left, so kena the new one. so gong xi fa cai la now car at workshop now below me only office upstairs, they finding for new ones. SIEN DOUZ! Punctured tire twice in 6 months...best!

One of the reason we got him is because of his eyes, 1 side grey 1 side brown, very rare huskies sold local has 2 colors.

Needs cold temperature in house, cant stay out under hot sun too long cause it will not be good for his hair, and he gets really thirsty fast over here..

Have to leash him all the time...inside house outside house...when he runs...he runs and will never come back, and take hell of a trouble to get him back if he does...

We had to let him go in the end, we could not cope with the nature of his life as he needs larger compound to play on and a bigger house to rest in...he is growing too fast and he is HUGE...too huge for our house as we don't have any compound or space for him to run on & seeing him get caged in the house made our heart sick, we often take him for walks but we did not have the strength to do so anymore...just too big to be brought around, so we posted on internet for sale 1 day...next day got replied from a rich man, he called up and plan to take Nova to his Bungalow around Genting, He has few acre of empty land for his 30 dogs to run on, so we are happy to find a proper master for Nova to lean on and we are not worry anymore as he had found a much more suitable place to live. Of course we are sad to part with him as we love him so much but we had no choice, he needs a better place...wish you happy in your new home.

Aren't they sweet, anyway Cubee is my friend's bird, we bought for him too for his birthday, so Dusty can be made company for her(Cubee) =D

So basically English Budgies are tamed, human hand fed from the moment they were born, thats why they aren't afraid of humans, you lift up your finger, they will hop on it, just bring it anywhere you want on your shoulder or head or whichever place you prefer for it not to pooh, their wing feathers are trimmed so they wont be able to fly far maybe just around the house, but anyway they walk alot...less flying...they are hubirds!

SO......the story goes like diz, Dusty lost his girlfriend just after a month or so after we bought em...lost it to an unknown creature that was lurking around my friends house, sadly a morning my friend woke up and found Cubee died on the floor bloodied with stomach wide open BUT without any trace of struggle...feel of CSI? yeah...real weird, normally if it's a cat or whatever that likes feathery creatures, they will leave some markings like feathers around the floor or the cage messed up...but it is all just too clean...Have to bury her behind the yard the next day without any clues to anything...very sad...

So after that horrible case, a few weeks later...another weird thing happen, this time we have to call the X-files...my Dusty gone missing out of a sudden. normally he runs free downstairs placed on the piano with his cage, he goes in and out whenever he likes, he has already got used to it and he has no problem with it, but 1 morning when i woke up he is just gone, searched the whole house and he is not there anymore, no trace of struggle too, Dusty COULD NOT fly far, it usually hops and walk around places...but this time he is really gone..where? i really don't have an idea...we checked the parking lot we checked the aquarium..we checked the outside drains, roads, just not there...maybe he misses Cubee too much he has to go look for her? well..just couldn't understand sometimes...nature!

Independence Day

Happy Merdeka everyone! Last nite was great, 10pm liao waiting for Gerald to call, was in my house at Perdana planning to go Curve, so thought of parking car at my place and walk to Curve cause only take like 10 minutes walk knowing that that area is packed with cars, so Gerald called saying they reached Curve and found parking so we change plan. We drove. When reach there, traffic was bad from my side and taking like half hour to be in Curves road and then chilaka sueh they go block all the small roads entering the Curve area and all the parking lots are closed, round 2 times in the end no choice drive back all the way to Hot Pot and park there and in the end got to walk! Here r the pix of the nite.

Getting bored with our local clubs lately? Try venturing to other places to get some of your senses regenerated! Even though I'm not a clubbing-clubbing person that just goes for drinks after drinks and in the end of the night just end up waking up in your friends bedroom, but i find clubs interesting in different ways like the interior & exterior designs,furniture designs, artworks, paint jobs, themes, DJ's, Sound Designs, Lightings and most importantly the overall atmosphere.Most people don't see it that way but i do after all. It all just had to blend to give you the overall feel of how you want to feel that late night after a whole week work, no matter how a stoner you can be when you enter a place like diz you will be a total different person! a smiley one! We all need to let our hair down from time to time, but if you want to party in style check out some selection of the world's best clubs.

Cape Town is not a huge clubbing destination. A large slice of the local population is simply far too laid back to worry about dressing up and begging for guest lists every night, but Opium has staked itself out a territory as the one place you simply must visit when in town. Its been quite sometime now since planning to introduce to the locals about a spectacular band which is not made famous in the South East Asia yet, but currently dealing a big bang in the Europe.Within Temptation is a Symphonic Metal band from the Netherlands. The band was founded in 1996 by vocalist Sharon Den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt.Their music is variously described as symphonic metal, although in an interview, Sharon Den Adel said they fell into a symphonic rock genre.

Directly after the release of their first album Enter, the band became prominent in the underground scene. It would however take until 2001, when they became known by the general public, with the single 'Ice Queen' from the album Mother Earth, which reached position 2 in the charts. Since then, the band won the Conamus Export Prijs four years in a row. Their next album 'The Silence Force' immediately reached first position in the charts. Their latest album, the 'The Heart of Everything' also reached this position immediately.

They are established well before Evanescence as people are comparing the both to which is the better band, from my opinion Evanescence is also good in certain ways but just because of a better publicity and commercials, that doesn't mean they make a better band, Talking about vocals, Sharon has more of the quality compared to Amy Lee, and the band blends the notes perfectly and different albums has different feel to it unlike albums from Evanescence its like one whole song in 1 album, lyrics are much more meaningful from WT, listening to their song over and over wont bore you at all. Sharon's lyrics are used as quotes quite often because it relates so much to life being depressed and emotional. The music are much more melodic compared to other goth rockers or sym. metal bands.

Marilyn Manson to launch own perfume

Shock rocker Marilyn Manson will reportedly launch his own fragrance next year.

The singer will join a host of stars with their own brand of perfume including Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce Knowles, Paris Hilton and Hilary Duff.

The goth rocker, who launches his movie career in earnest next year with the 'Alice In Wonderland' remake, revealed the news at a John Galliano fashion show.

He admits to taking some of the inspiration for his currently unnamed scent from the fashion-art collaborations between Salvador Dali and Elsa Schiaparelli.

Manson says, "I'm in the final stages with one of the major companies."

Manson, who was accompanied by fiancee Dita von Teese, also said he plans to spin out a complete range of cosmetics next year.

Taylor grew up (without knowing his Irish father) in Des Moines, along with other Slipknot band members.^[1] This has been an inspiration to much of Slipknot's work; including their third studio album Iowa, and the song "(515)", which is the telephone area code for central Iowa.

Nathan Jonas "Joey" Jordison is an American drummer, bass guitarist and guitarist. He is best known for his role as the drummer for the band Slipknot during the 1990s and 2000s. He is also well known as the guitarist for Murderdolls, a glam metal/horror punk band which he founded in the 2000s, that is currently on hiatus due to the Murderdolls' members' main projects. Since the spring of 2006, he has been the live drummer for the industrial metal band Ministry. In the summer of 2007, Jordison is going on the road with the band Korn for summer European festivals and the Family Values Tour.

History Behind his Mask

There is meaning behind each Slipknot members' mask. They are a reflection of their personalities or a past personal experience. Jordison's Japanese Kabuki mask reflects a personal experience; when he was younger his mother came home drunk from Halloween. Joey was terrified of the emotionless stare of the mask. In the early days of the Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat album he wore one plain white. For the Self-Titled album Slipknot, he decorated it with a few stripes and dots of paint. For Iowa he painted it with fake blood all over his mask, and for Vol. 3 he did a variation of designs on it, more notable with claw slashes. He also quotes: "The design enables it to feel however you want it to feel; scary, evil or perverted. All those things held in one mask". He has made about 1000 different styles for his mask. His new mask showed at the Fuse Fangoria Award show is gray with red and black markings.

The New Civic Type R

The hotly-anticipated Honda Civic Type R goes on sale in March 2007 in the UK, and it’s been well worth the wait.

While it’s just as exhilarating to drive as the outgoing Civic Type R, the latest high performance version is a more refined ‘superhatch’, with improved comfort levels, integrated styling and handling tuned for enhanced responsiveness and predictability.

The new Civic Type R continues to be powered by the naturally-aspirated, high-revving 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine but the unit has been significantly reworked to improve responsiveness using a new balancer shaft and drive-by-wire throttle control. VTEC variable valve timing and VTC variable inlet camshaft technology continue to underpin the engine structure.

Further development of the Type R unit means more useable torque, as the switch to high-lift, long duration valve timing (the cam change) now takes place at a lower 5,200 rpm, and continues all the way to 8,000 rpm. So that screaming, high rpm VTEC range is broader and more accessible. To mark the entry to this ‘power band’ a new i-VTEC indicator just to the right of the digital speedometer is illuminated once the revs rise above 5,200 rpm.

Maximum power is now 204 bhp, reached at 8,000 rpm and the car is more responsive generally, while improved aerodynamics ensure the new car cuts through the air more cleanly. Slightly lower gearing compensates for a small increase in kerb weight.

Acceleration figures are expected to be virtually identical to the 6.4-second 0-60 mph time of the outgoing car – and the new car should match its top speed too, powering on to 146 mph.

The chassis of the Civic 5-door – already widely praised for its handling balance – forms the basis for all 3-door models and provides an ideal platform for the Type R.

Building on the Civic Type S suspension, which is fine-tuned for sharper chassis dynamics, the Type R takes those modifications to the next level. Like the Type S, its rear track is almost an inch wider than that of the 5-door model, but otherwise damper, bush and spring characteristics are all unique to Type R.

Broad 225/40 ZR18 tires provide added grip, while a half an inch reduction in ride height further reduces body roll. Firmer steering, a quicker ratio and stiffer steering box mountings all provide pin-sharp responses to steering wheel input, while the fuel tank’s central location beneath the cabin floor helps to lower the center of gravity and reduces the body’s inertia moment.

While the styling of previous Civic Type Rs has almost been an after-thought, the latest car enhances the already-bold appearance of the Civic to build an incredibly assertive look. Seven-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels are fitted as standard and – helped by the car’s low ride height – these tuck neatly under the body colored arches.

The deep front spoiler incorporates a larger air intake to channel air to the induction system, as well as triangular foglamps. There’s no missing the distinct body-colored tailgate rear spoiler, which follows the kick-up line from the rear quarter windows, and provides added down-force. At the front, a black honeycomb mesh grille replaces the glass panel of other Civics, sporting – of course – the infamous red ‘H’ badge.

Inside, it’s all about the driving experience. Front seats are racing-style buckets with large black Alcantara bolsters and red stitching, red fabric seat cushions and backs. The seat bench in the back repeats the same color combination.

Also available will be a fully-equipped GT version, with additional features such as cruise control, dual zone air conditioning, fog lights, automatic lights and wipers and curtain SRS bags. A voice-activated, state-of-the-art navigation system is offered as an option.

The Civic Type R goes on sale in the UK in March 2007. Pricing is yet to be announced.
